My last performance in theater

1 min readDec 14, 2020

The old faces I’d normally see over the last six months will soon be changed. The stress of training and pressure pushes me to my end. Standing there at the theatre, looking at the people who thought me many things. (Sir Bench, Director Kath, Sir Jay R, and to my favorite mentor Sir Mark). I remember telling to myself, “How di I get here?”. “Salamat sa lugar, salamat sa katabi” the last word before I finally say goodbye. I’d be closing a phase in my life, one filled with change, growth, hardship and progress. For my fellow theatre members, we had been together since day one of audition. We worked together, witnessing each other learn from the innocence of becoming a new member. In a way that were like family-like, treating each other like true brother and sister; reminding that I belonged to something, a real family. It was a joyous thing to remember, though I knew that life didn’t end when I quit, and there were definitely opportunities before me. As I close my own curtain. I just wanna say that I am not who I am today because of theater.
