Every person has their ideal wallet, some people want a lot of money, so do I, some want an expensive wallet, some want a sentimental wallet. But for me, a wallet that has money is ideal. Let me present to you. My… ideal wallet.

My Ideal Wallet

My ideal wallet is just small because it’s a lot easier to bring. As you can see, it’s like a wallet of a cute kindergarten girl because of its color but, the truth is, pink is my happy color it calms my soul. You will see a lot of coins because it’s less hassle especially when I ride a bus or tricycle sometimes they don’t have a change for my money. You will also notice my two Atm cards, this is important too because sometimes I spent my cash to the point that I needed a backup. And we all know that we can withdraw everywhere and anytime. On the left side, it’s my school I.D, I always have this in my wallet because it’s important nowadays especially that there’s a lot of checkpoint in every area because of the Pandemic. You will also notice the customized name in my wallet which I really wanted to have because I get traumatized before. I always lost my wallet and a customized printed name will be helpful for me to get identified. A lot of cash is what makes this cute wallet amazing because I don’t want my wallet to be empty. And what is the sense of having an expensive wallet if you don’t have cash in it?

This is my partner’s wallet

ATM Card — There’s also an ATM Card inside his wallet, and he uses it for an emergency. He puts his savings there and keeps it and only uses it if there’s something he needs to buy or important.

Family Picture — This one will never be out of his wallet. It is his everything. That picture keeps him going, giving him strength and inspiration to continue doing his best.

Dig Deeper

As I interviewed Brian and thoroughly observe his wallet, I found the design, things, statements, feelings, emotions surprising and fascinating. All of it is significant in his life, starting from the color to the atm card, receipts, and lastly, the family picture. Its roots in his love for the family. It seems like he is a responsible man who is always ready, prepared, and can be relied on by his family any time or anywhere.

My partner wishes to be successful and have a good life by studying well, and his goal is saving money to support and help his family and the needy.

He is selfless and thoughtful towards his family as well as others too; he prioritizes the needed things and budgets his money well to save a lot for his future that would benefit his family and the needy.

Brian Rae needs a way to become more disciplined and focused for him to become successful and save a lot of money to help his family and the needy, but he is pressured and thinks that he will only fail and disappoint everyone around him.

3 Questions

1. How did talking to your interviewee inform/influence your design?

Talking to my interview enabled me to know and learn more about him. It made me more challenged and motivated to design something beautiful that my partner would like and enjoy while interacting with him. We build a rapport, and it leads to good communication with each other.

2. How did testing and getting feedback impact your final design?

Testing and getting his feedback impacted my design because as we get to know more about each other, I felt what he truly desired and needed to reach his goal and give a solution to his problem.

3. What was the most challenging part of the process for you?

For me, the most challenging part is the last one, which is building your solution or creating the prototype. Because we already had our interviews with each other before we came to this part. Also, it is the final part, and it is critical whether he wants it or not, especially it is my second time finalizing or generating a solution for the problem. With the time given, it is expected that I will become familiar with him as I delve deeper into his feelings, emotions, and remarks; also, he has already provided feedback for me to improve on my solution or prototype.
